Congress MP Emphasizes Peace Amid Controversy Over 'I Love Muhammad' Campaign

Call for Peace in Response to Protests

In Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, the 'I Love Muhammad' campaign has sparked controversy and violent protests. In light of these events, Congress MP Imran Masood stated on Saturday that mosques are meant for prayer, not for street violence.

Speaking to reporters in Saharanpur, Masood remarked, "Mosques are places for prayer, not for violence on the streets. Every Muslim loves Muhammad, and there is no need to create a spectacle to express that love."

He urged Muslims to demonstrate their affection for Muhammad by adhering to his teachings rather than causing disturbances in public spaces. Masood expressed uncertainty about the ongoing situation but firmly stated that such actions are unjustifiable.

He also called on religious leaders to step forward and help put an end to the unrest. The Congress leader emphasized that Muhammad preached humanity, not violence, and insisted that these conflicts must cease.
